Just remember, that if you are offered a zinc coated '44 Cent,
just make sure that it isn't a zinc coated bronze Cent.

Electroplating of a bronze cent is easy to do in a backyard shed job.

In an electro zinc plated bronze Cent, some of the sharp detail is necessarily lost, and the higher weight of 3.11+ grams is easy to confirm.

Belgian zinc coated steel 2 Cents are common, but they do have minor claim to be a part of an American One Cent collection. They are usually found in VF or better condition, and if you are luck enough, can be found in a dealer's junk box. That is how I found mine.

My guess is that unused American One Cent planchets were used for Belgian 1944 2 Cent production.
