1878 Morgan Dollar "m" Carving On Reverse

HolyJuan New Member United States 13 Posts	Posted 06/23/2021 11:49 pm Hello all! This Morgan dollar has an odd "M" on the reverse. This seems like something that was carved in after the fact, but the "o" in "God" looks like it is stamped over it. Any thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

Because lettering is higher, whoever carved the letter just stopped at the base of the letter instead of carving into it. This is known as Graffiti.
