Found this ugly guy tonight. This is only the second one I've found, I was told by someone that searches much more than me, they were somewhat scarce. Thanks for looking. 2001 1c DDO-001

Found two doubled dies tonight, this one and above and both 001's! Pretty sure this is the first time I've found this one. 2020P-1DO-001

No major distortion but you can still see it. There were four of five that were close on Wexler but not quite right, none on cc or VV that were close. Unlisted 2019P Lincoln Cent DDO.

I just wanted to say that I read an article in a coin magazine I get monthly that by 2023, cents will stop being made. It is very sad for cent hunters like us. I hope that the article is wrong, but I don't think it is. Just wanted to give you a heads up on the possible future of the cent.

Yeah, they've been talking about it for years but this may finally be it for the cent. I suppose I'll just do more nickels, dimes and quarters, haven't found a good source for half dollars yet but haven't looked real hard. There are some who have been waiting for the cent to go away, for some time, no names though (jbuck). I'm curious as to how and when they will take them out of circulation, when they do quit making them. Will it be immediately or a slow phase out. Maybe have the banks keep them, every time they come in to be returned to the fed?

Quote: I'm curious as to how and when they will take them out of circulation, when they do quit making them. They do not have to do anything. When the Mint stops making them (or the Fed stops ordering them, effectively the same thing), the ones out there will disappear in six months or a year. The reason why they mint many billions of them every year is because most of them take a one way trip: Mint > Fed > Banks > Vendors > Customers > Trash. I love the cent, and I hope it lives on as NCLT, but it is a waste of resources for circulation.

Quote: it is a waste of resources for circulation I agree. Thanks for the thought process on how they will go away.
