Glad to have you watching @tdz and that Styca is stunning @john!
Let's drop back to the decade of the 820s tomorrow morning. Looks like I have a long of Abbasid Dirhams coming up.

This Abbasid Dirham is dated AH 209, which roughly corresponds to 824-825 AD. It was minted at Isbahan under the authority of Al-Ma'mum and I have attributed it as Album 223.5.

I'm still with Eanred. This coin I have attributed no more accurately than his entire reign (810-841), although on second thoughts it's the same type as my one for the 830s, so presumably should be tighter. Anyway, this is from the Bolton Percy (North Yorkshire) Hoard 1847 and 1967 - 4,000 Northumbrian stycas buried around the time of the Viking attack on Northumbria and fall of York in 866. Eanred Styca, 810-841
York, Northumbria. Base Silver, 12mm, 1.00g. +EANRED REX around cross pattee. +DAEGBERCT (moneyer) (S 862).So if that might not be the 810s, here's another Eanred, this time an earlier type. Eanred Tertiary Phase Sceatta, 810-830
Northumbria. Base silver, 0.77g. +EAHRED REX, unbarred As. VVLFHEARD (Wulfheard moneyer), central motif (1/1) (S 860; SCBI 69, 944 this coin). Ex Tony Abramson.

I'll get us started with another Abbasid Dirham. This one was minted at Samarqand under the authority of al Amin and is dated AH 194 (809 or 810 AD). I have attributed it as Album 221.5. One note from the seller (SARC) was that due to errors in the spelling of the mint name, this might have been a circulating counterfeit.

My date ranges are still too broad, because no-one knows when these people lived and the date ranges allow for a large margin of error. This is as tight as I can get it, but really it could go all the way to 840. Archbishop Eanbald II Sceat, 796-808
York. Silver, 13.5mm, 1.10g. EA • (NB) A • LD • (retrograde) around central cross pattee. + EDILVARD (Æthelweard, moneyer) around central cross pattee (cf EMC 1997.0430, same obv. die).

Just catching up a bit—sorry for not posting before. That is a great Sceat @john! This billon Dirham also comes from Sogdiana/the Abassid Dynasty and was minted at Bukhara in the timeframe of 796 to 801 AD. I believe that it cites al A,in as Governor of Khorasan. I've attributed it as Album 96 and Walker XXIX-11-12.
