(Images have been updated, I moved all the coins into a format and photographed em, took me a while, heh. read the format explination above the top image, also.) Back when I was a novice coin collecter (And I still am pretty much)i used to buy bags of foriegn coins, they cost about 20$ to receive a bag, and they contained a veriety of coins, anywhere around 50 to 150 coins, from seemingly every country, with years ranging all over the place. I mainly collected them to "harvest" the world war 2 year coins out of the bag for collecting, I purchased quite a few of these bags, then after I was done, I tried to sort the coins with countries I could identify apart, and left the rest in a bin. I bought about 80 to 100$ worth of bags overall. They were great fun, but now that I think about it, since the coins did come from a store that specialises in coins, it's doubtfull they gave me anything worth nearly that, and I was wondering if anything (or the coins all-together) from these bags are actually worth the money I paid... (You don't have to give an opinion on each indivudual coin since that would take ages  , I was just wondering if any particular coin was rare/unique/valuable that you might happen to notice thats worth keeping.) (The new format I come up with was sets, rows, and numbers, for example if you wanted to call attention to the canadian penny in the top left on the first photo, it's Set one, Row A, 1. Or shorter, Set one Row A-1. Note though that each row has a random amount of coins so make sure to count from left to right to be accurate.) boy, I hope someone can give you some good info on all that. I think your best bet would be a world coin catalogue to look up each individual coin and see if you have any key dates in there. It does happen even from good dealers. I have found rarities in the junk bins myself though have never bought world coin bagged lots. I'm SUre in all of that you at least made your money back (or at least would hope so)

This might take awhile without asking info on certain coins. As an example. One of my favorite websites for coin ID's is Don's World Coin GalleryI'd also recommend getting a Krause "Catalog of World Coins" for 1900+ coins. The standard Krause book will list 99.67% of normal issued coinage that you'll find in a random bag of coins |

I know that the palestine coins you have are worth a few bucks,some of these go for high prices.... its very hard to see the dates and denomination on them...but,if you go to this site youll find prices for them http://www.commem.com/prod12.htm |

You have a V (Canadian) Nickle and an old HK 1 cent. These could be $3 and $5, respectively

JOE- Actually, I see some coins that may have some value here. In the first picture I see a French 5 centimes coin that is mid 19th century. That may be worth a few bucks if it is in fact in decent condition. One coin that really catches my eye is the Hong Kong Cent near the right side of the third picture. That appears to be an 1866, which in F books for $5 and in VF for $10. Would it be possible for you to get a better picture of this coin?
Also, I would be curious to see your British Pennies, half pennies, and farthings.

I think it will be easier for us if you put these in rows and columns (and maybe even label the sides ABC, 123) so we can tell you what is what.
Like A1, Canadian dime
A2, 10 Yen
etc

Hey don't be too upset. There are some coins that I can see are perfectly legal tender. Also you did say that you pulled anything that was WWII related. If you have the following coins from the Soviet Union of this denomination and year, you might have strike the jackpot: 1942 10 kopek 1942 15 kopek 1944 10 kopek They are at least 50USD each even in the most awful condition possible (unless totally damaged) so let's hope you got something nice from it  |

To mr finger, Thank you for calling attention to that! I searched on the link you gave me and this is a 1941 20 mils coin, and it appears to be worth more then 100$! I'll be taking it over to the grading section, I'm curious if it's worth anything in it's condition.
To gx series, I got quite a few that were in the years between 1930 and 1950, some of them from nazi germany and nazi-occupied france, a few others as well, it's all mostly common coinage though.
To archraz, I'll try and get a better photo of those coins in rows (I never thought of that, haha.)

JOE- That 1940 South African coin actually does carry a premium. If it is in fact BU, then it is worth $10. If it is just an AU, then it is around $5-6. So not a bad coin there at all. Also, that 1915 British Penny (D3) looks to be in about EF, which books at $8.

Your 1899 Canada cent (b3) is the "large 9" variety--slight premium in my book: CAD $5.50 in VF (Charest book)
The 1942 NFLD 1c (b4) is around $4 CAD in EF40 by my Charlton's catalogue.
The 1840 Russia 1/4 Kopeck (c3) is very cool--I like that obvious hand-punching of the date.
(c4) is very interesting too. It looks to be a Belgium 2c where one side is defaced and engraved with Hebrew characters--can anyone translate that?

Hey JOE, you have a big treasure here. For example, third photo, near Spanish "25 Pesetas" and Mexican "1 Peso", you have a coin from German State of Schaumburg-Lippe (1858-2Pfennige): $7.00 in VF. It is an example but I can see some other coins that should be investigated.

Took me a while, But I arranged all the coins by rows, I never thought of orginizing them because I didn't think anybody would really be interested in all those coins, (I was wrong, haha) You're all helping me immensely, Thanks again.
(To those confused, All post made prior to this one were made before the coins were orginized the way they are now.)
