The overall grade of 64 may be optimistic as well. Heritage called the notes UNC to Ch UNC when they auctioned the pack off in 2005, but PCGS indicates the pack averages Ch UNC 64. Either Heritage was conservative, or PCGS is optimistic. I doubt if any of the few collectors with the interest and wherewithal for this item would break the pack out of the slab to see which is the case.

According to the 2005 auction note, all the notes have minor handling and one has a tear. The wrapper "may" be original. Is this part of an effort to promote collecting of banknote packs?

How many people collect packs of any denomination?

There's a few of us out there. I keep them in Capital Plastic holders I get from Wizard to keep the corners and edges from getting nicked up. All of these are replacement notes.
