Thank you, GLB and Errers. The face on the left is Dom Pedro I (1798 - 1834), the founder and first ruler of the Empire of Brazil. The other is General Emilio Garrastazu Medici, who was President of Brazil from 1969 - 1974.

1794 Middlesex, London, from the Political & Social Series of Middlesex tokens and halfpence. This halfpence presents Mainwaring's satirical Map of France, showing the nations of France and England in bitter contrast. Obverse: A MAP OF FRANCE, 1794. "HONOR" trodden under foot, "throne" turned upside down, FRA-NCE (divided), RE/LI/GI/ON cut in pieces, "GLORY" defaced, "FIRE" in each corner, murder (daggers) on every side, and bloodshed all over. Reverse: offers a hopeful message of continued peace "MAY GREAT BRITAIN EVER REMAIN THE REVERSE" surrounded by the protective barrier of oak leaves symbolizing the British navy and the radiated Star of Bethlehem shining overhead. Edge: Engrailed. At least 13 different edges are known for this token design.
