A Chinese 1644-1661 Not Cash Coin - Coin Community Forum

mrwhatisit Pillar of the Community United States 2955 Posts	Posted 08/31/2021 5:31 pm This was in a large binder with many other Chinese coins on loan to me from another coin dealer to check out, some rare, some common, and this popped out. This is not my coin or my writing, but I took the pics for here. I am fairly sure this is a token-like cash coin, and I saw another one on ebay being sold for about 25 dollars. I think that these are sometimes used for feng shui. Sap Moderator Australia 16832 Posts	Posted 08/31/2021 8:08 pm These ones with the dates on them are most often used in souvenir sets; "Coins of the Qing Dynasty". I have a set that was sold wrapped in a piece of a PVC coin page and glued onto a piece of cardboard that had descriptions of each of the emperors. I should say I "had" a set, sold it years ago along with a bunch of other replicas I didn't want or need. Not rare, and not old. Mid 20th century at the earliest.
