If anyone wants Portuguese Ceramic coins, this is a crazy good price. I paid much more than this for mine.

Wanted to show how the copper coins of that type to be found get progressively more worn as they are older. This is a 10 reis from 1865.

They are hard to find better than this. The 1901 are easily found better.

The 7 is noticeably amended but the coin is probably genuine.
With no official documentation attesting this coin being produced and issued in 1837 I feel this should be considered a test coin for a production run that in the end was delayed to 1838. The coins were then produced and issued with the 1838 era. This one could have been put into circulation by accident.

Unique? Likely. But ridiculous price for a test coin and NGC must have been paid to promote it. I noticed much noise about this. It is business but as a collector I dislike this.

Hi all,

I don't know if I'm going to add any more, but my wife had to go to Portugal and I asked her to pick up a coin if she has time, so another one maybe coming.
