I came across this unattributed piece today amidst a shop's unsorted material. Roughly 9mm across with a weight of 0.98 of a gram.

I believe I have it identified as a silver trihemiobol issued during the 4th century BC rule of Hekatomnus, Satrap of Caria, possibly cataloged as SNG Kayhan 864 and Traite II 87. It exhibits some porosity but still overall a decent specimen, I'd judge.

I think I'd think below right away. But that is just what comes to mind.

I agree, it could easily be the issue you've referenced. Wouldn't be the first Greek coin I've misidentified.

This is an archaic Miletos issue.

Hecatomnus did restore the type over 100 years later, but in distinctly Classical style:

It's always cool when there is a 'tomb tale' to go with it.
