Here's another topical list of classic US commemorative coins. This time out, it's a list of coins that feature one or more full trees - not just branches or leaves from a tree.

I've prepared a series of posts about the coins and their tree(s) over in the "Post Your..." Gallery area of CCF.

Here's a list of the pertinent "tree coins," with a quick-access link to the post on it:

1. 1920 Maine Statehood Centennial
2. 1922 Grant Birth Centenary, Half Dollar + Gold $1.00
3. 1928 Hawaiian (European) Discovery Sesquicentennial
4. 1935 Connecticut Tercentenary
5. 1935 Old Spanish Trail
6. 1936 Albany Charter 250th Anniversary
7. 1936 Columbia, SC Sesquicentennial
8. 1936 Lynchburg, VA Sesquicentennial
9. 1936 York County, ME 300th Anniversary
10.1937 Battle of Antietam 75th Anniversary
11. 1937 Roanoke Colony Memorial 350th Anniversary

I previously would have included the 1946 Iowa Statehood Centennial half dollar on this list, but after additional review of early illustrations and photographs of the building, I believe what is seen on the coin to the right of the columns in the center section (viewer's persepctive) is a growth of ivy vs. a tree.

There are a nice variety of coins from around the world posted in the "Coins with Trees" Gallery, so I encourage you to take a few minutes to scroll around and enjoy!

What could possibly equal the Connecticut? The most beautiful obverse on any of our commemorative coins to me, by a good measure.

From a book titled Souvenir of the Centennial, 1877 describing Connecticut's role in the Philadelphia centennial 1876 exposition.
