Hi all, like my previous post from a few days ago, here's another 1967 penny with what appears to be (emphasis on 'appears to be') the slight doubling under the 'L' in 'Liberty'. Is this a frequent thing found on the '67 penny? It's hard to believe I'd find two die gouges in nearly the same spot otherwise. I appreciate any thoughts, many thanks.
I just looked at it again Tanman and I'm now too seeing the small "what appears to be" a little area of doubling below the L is in reality a bit longer and larger on the op's coin than the supplied pics on some other sites. Wondering if it could be due to die stage? I agree that it is extremely minor doubling if it is doubling at all. Just didn't appear to be a die chip IMHO.
Three examples on Wexler site: http://doubleddie.com/777118.html WDDO-001 is a match to DDO-001. The WDDO-002 has a smaller size doubling mark. So check each listed example to see if you can find a match?
