It is a 1919-S coin. it also looks like someone tried to use a punch to flatten out the tail of the last 9.

Can you please post up a close up of the date/MM area so we can see it better and to determine what happened to it?

Thanks for the close-up image. It makes it clear that the coin was marked up with a nail punch or something similar. the 2 largest ones are deep and you can see how the metal moved, making it appear like an '8' from a distance. It is just a damaged 1919-S Cent
