Including the reverse in B&W because it is easier to see the lettering. Obverse is portrait looking to the right but can't make out the lettering. If you need a better pic, let me know. Thanks much.

Thank you Bob!!! Hubby and I spent 8 hours on our phones looking through everything we could find online (obviously we missed something, lol). That is it! Appreciate it much and happy holidays! Now we can pass it down to the kiddo for Christmas.

(We had it in a coin folder listed as Augustus Ceasar and that is all we had to go on.)

Faith43:

I do about 4 hours of coin work a day and boy, using a phone for 8 hours as you did this must be truly painful. My wife and I are in our late 50's and both college professors and while I am 100% large computer screen for everything, she has moved so much of her life to her phone and even grades essays on the thing. Recently I set up a four foot large screen computer in the dining room and begged her to use it as she won't have any eyes left soon. I don't know how people do it these days but I don't think human eyes can have evolved that quickly. Funny part is I spent a fortune back in the late 90's to buy a Sony Picture Book C1VN notebook with a screen that was maybe 5 inches by 10 and she finally gave up on it and said she was so sorry I spent the money but no one can use a screen that small so she gave it back to me. 20 years later she thinks differently and I don't know how that even happened.

LouisvilleKYshop, I love big screens for computers and really hate doing research on my phone. But because it was Christmas Eve and didn't have a choice, phone it was. Really wanted to find out more info on that coin because wanted to give it to son for Christmas, thought it would be a few minute search. Then thought maybe it was a fake so that really set us off to finding an answer, lol. We do collect some coins but usually those are within the last century so we aren't as familiar with the older ones. Now son is the proud owner of this coin and we can enjoy our Christmas a little more. & Back to the computer and dual screens on Monday.
