Lucifer 17 New Member Netherlands 43 Posts	Posted 01/06/2022 6:16 pm I found this wierd coin, I try to look in the internet and I didn't see any gold plated 1971 10 cent. Any Opinion would really helpful, is this an error coin? Report this Post to the Staff

oriole Pillar of the Community Canada 5255 Posts	Posted 01/06/2022 6:39 pm it is not a mint error. It was deliberately gold plated after it left the mint. People do that a lot for different reasons. Spence Moderator United States 34444 Posts	Posted 01/06/2022 8:25 pm Ok good info to have. The weight is correct for this coin so it isn't an off-metal strike or anything weird like that. As to the value, the plating counts as damage so no numismatic value. Unfortunately the amount of gold is not going to be worth harvesting.
