well I know its older than 29 years. and when I found it at that gun show it was many years corroded, so bad the KKK letters were not even identifiable..until I tapped it on the counter.It was then I knew it was something speacial..so however long it takes to get real crusty and lay around in a box..50yrs maybe..who know I will have to keep searching on this one..

I found out in the 60s the stamped out the KKK, and in fact this one could be authentic with a membership number on it.. I have some folks checking into the medal..I will let you know what I find out..

i was lost as well Mrfinger..the chance its authenitic is slim to NO. made in the early 60s. the stamped x and numbers are unexplained.still searching for info?

Maybe it was actually a "dog" tag for the "Kentucky Kennel Klub"

UPDATE-----got an email back from a guy

He said this particular one was issued to a member with his code membership number.only worth about 10 dollars unless I could tie a name to the membership number which would be almost impossible seeing how most all records of the Klan have been destroyed..so yes authentic WOW cool find for historic reasons only.
