I know the 1988-P Jefferson nickel is not scarce by any means, with a mintage of 771 million. Still, I can appreciate seeing a nice, well struck example of this 34 year old coin in circulation. Some 34 year old humans wish they looked this good.

It's probably was a mint set coin spent because of the tarnish.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

34 years ago, I was in my 8 year serving in the U.S. Navy.

nice looking coin, can you get a close up of the reverse steps area?

Nice coin for sure, but hard to see much of a premium here.

No premium of course, maybe 25 cents on a good day. Perhaps 50 years from now.

Premium or not (doesn't always matter), it's a nice coin and would be a decent hole filler. If you like it, keep it.
