I have had success with crudded indianhead cents using baking soda and white vinegar repeating until date finally showed. Of course the coin was ruined but was it was valueless and was able to see 1883 after many sizzles. I only recommend this if you feel coin is way beyond help and you are ok with totally trashing it. It does work fairly well ruining and clearing the crud.
