They did away with my normal photograding site so now I am comparing it to the PCGS site. To me the obverse looks G-4 and the reverse looks VG-10. Don't know if they are spots from ED on the obverse or pitting. Likely cleaned, so probably a "Details" coin. Typical die clashing on both obverse and reverse.

I based my opinion from the first set of bright pictures before the second set was posted. The second set does not look cleaned but still exhibits the same marks and qualities. Are they pits or spots on the obverse?

I'll say VG details (ED).

Looks like VG details and the obverse marks look like shallow corrosion pits. This is the most common 3-cent nickel, readily available in all grades up to gem mint state. Sentimental value aside, I'd pass this one on to a young numismatist who would be thrilled to have it.

And not trying to be rude to @jaobler, but that young numismatist you're describing, sounds a lot like myself! Well maybe not the young part! But it's my only 3 cent and I'm pretty thrilled to have!
