Hey, I got an idea! how many broadstrike errors are on Eisenhower dollars? That will work for a huge coin... I sadly don't own one...

The Tongans issued a lot of round oversized 1 and 2 Pa'anga coins, here is my 2 new ones. Using the J Buck standard of quality - an Ike dollar for comparison. 1 Pa'anga coin - it is 38.4mm in size and weighs 28.23 grams. These are proof Cupronickel and celebrate the accession of King Tupou IV. 2 Pa'anga coin - it is even bigger at 44.5mm (1.77 inches) and weighs 41.68 grams!!! Tonga issued several of these huge coins which were commems rather than spenders. They also issued these coins in 20 and 50 seniti size, but they are not bigger than an Ike.

I don't have a broadstruck Ike (that one above must be rare as all get out!) but I do have a double-clipped Ike.

France 50 francs 1976 (41mm): These coins actually did circulate to a limited extent. In 1978 I bought some stamps from a post office in a small French town, tendered a 100-franc note and got one in change! I think post offices received a supply to hand out in change every year around Christmas time!

Beautiful, the loved that Helvetica Bold lettering in the 1970s, also known as Futura bold, invented in 1958 - but it took off in the UK and the Netherlands on coins, stamps and banknotes by 1964 - but 1970 was the year it exploded over the world.
You see it on everything, coins, banknotes, stamps, brutalist buildings and magazines. The 70s was defined by Helvetica bold.

Guess I shouldn't be driving and reading this topic! I just screwed this all up! I initially thought I we were comparing Franklin's! I figured the peso would beat that, then I saw mistake! Ole Ike has the Cuban beat by a tenth of a millimeter
