I found this online, and it is a 1968-s penny. It has a wire struck thru it from the middle of Lincoln all the way towards In God. How rare are these error coins? How much are they worth? I think this is a wire, but it could be a scratch too?

Hard to tell from the photo but I am leaning towards a slight scratch
only because it is so fine. Struck through wire would be much thicker.

JimmyD you may be right but could it be a die crack?
Rest in Peace

i find no extra value on a strike through like that... and if the pictures arent good enough, you got to know when to pass or ask the seller for close up pictures (which I have done).

some strike throughs have a premium.
struck through something large or leaves a pattern or still stuck in the coin...

I think that Tony is correct here, a thin thread or hair.

Being a proof, it is easier to see I guess.
