Ebay Now Requiring Your Social Security Number?

I went on there today expecting to sell a couple of silver eagles on there since they didn't get any bites here after I listed them. Anyways it seems like they wanna report your income to the government and requires a social security number. I'm not going to do that. How long has this been required? Report this Post to the Staff

Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, and Cashapp etc will all make you give your SSN if you get more than $600 in proceeds from sales. sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21786 Posts	Posted 03/10/2022 10:31 pm Just another way the Tax Office can catch up with you, if you make too much income from ebay, by cross matching your ebay records with Tax Office records. SSN would be the most convenient way for the Tax Office to do it. I guess that they won't even bother to tell what you have been at, if you don't otherwise infringe on Tax Office rules. Not a problem for me anyway; I don't use ebay. That way, I don't have to worry about all of the other problems that ebay brings with it.
