Obverse MS-64, Reverse MS-65, net MS-64+. Maybe VAM-3A? Nice one.

I had the VAM 3 and 4 + their die states on these for awhile before I sold all of them. Kinda miss them a bit now but when you need money you need money. This one looks 65 to me. Rev might PL, obv probably not.

grade the coin not the slab. the coin is not a 66. if this went to PCGS it would most likely come back at 64 or 64+

Meh, I think it's a nice coin. The marks that are on the surface are very light and the luster is very strong. 66 may have been a bit of a gift but looking at it again I think it deserves at least a 65.

Obverse 65+, reverse 67. They netted it out at 66. I think it's fairly graded.

the Morgan below, although not the same year as yours, with cleaner devices graded by PCGS at MS64 which I thought would be at least 65 with a good shot at 66. along with the weaker reverse strike, although a nice coin, I still think PCGS would give your coin no more 64+

there are way too many defects along with the weaker reverse to make 66
