Some one said, or asked about my camera, that if it has a fixed lens it likely is a "Thru the view-finder", focusing. It has an adaptor for various lens. Would that indicate "thru the lens", focusing? It has manual "zoom, (optical), which I take to be thru the lens, focusing. I have not owned a camera with different lens utility, other than a 16mm turret movie camera. I just realized not only is thios not the right section, it is not even the right forum! sorry. I am more tired than I realized!.

Kurt, I think I understand, most of your reply!
I also think I might answer my own question, by turning on the camera, and aioming at "something", then cover the lens with my hand, and check the viewfinder, and the TV image. ONE has to tell me something, right?

Moved from wrong forum, and section]
Kurt,
it is a Canon Powershot A590 IS It has the regular lens that comes with the body, but has other les, like the wide angle, and telephoto. There is a Macro lens, too, I think, ( I could be mistaken on the last). It came with the 32MB sticl, and also a 2GB stick, free, on a promo. I have made only about a dozen shots so far. I'm not used to all those bells, and whistles!
