Princetane Pillar of the Community 4628 Posts	Posted 06/16/2022 3:07 pm It's hard to say if they are Proofs as they have light wear. I would say AU for the Halfcrown and gEF for the Crown (Clear wear on the Queen's hair and on the flank of St. George). These are British grades, which are more harsh than the Sheldon ones. They have thick rims which is a sign of Proof, but miss the mirrored fields, so will say circulation and the fact many 1887 Jubilee coins were kept as souvenirs and hence why so many survive in a high grade. If there is a chance either is a proof, its the halfcrown as it has some very clean feilds and is very sharply struck. But the wear would downgrade it to an Impaired Proof. Still a lovely pair of coins! Update - Looking at it again, the Halfcrown is definitely a proof, but the Crown is a circulation piece.
