I don't own one, but for sure it would be the Isabella Quarter.

The 1935/36 San Diego California - Pacific Exposition Commemorative Half does it for me!

I was once fooling around with Google Maps terrestrial photography, and it is possible to almost stand in exactly the same perspective point in Balboa Park and see what is depicted on the reverse of the coin!

What is so special about that you may ask? You could perhaps do that with one or two other Commemoratives. True. But I have actually stood in that spot in Balboa Park.

The interesting thing for me personally is that I come from Oz, and live in Sydney. My daughter in law used to live within walking distance of that spot in Balboa Park. She too now lives in Sydney.

Try fooling around with Google Maps terrestrial photography; you too can stand in that spot!

You know I just had to. There are a lot of user photos and the Google provided Street View stuff as well.

Of the moderns I really like the Bald Eagle set. But My personal favorite of all of them is the 1925 California Diamond Jubilee

I had to sell off many coins that were my favorites. I never had a real favorite until now. I have been doing an inventory of what I have left and found a 1935 Hudson New York Sesquicentennial. It was not in my collection because of its condition. Very unique with the sailing ships. I remember when I got it over 60 years ago and that makes it special.

I am a newbie here but my favorite commemorative would be the 2009 United States Mint Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set. I really like Lincoln coins and this set that the mint put out is presented very nice. Other folks must think so too. I have not seen any of them around in my travels. Most dealers don't know anything about the set or it's existence.

I love that set and I was fortunate enough to buy one from the mint when it came out.

There is only one that really express my personal heritage, the Oregon Trail.. I'm Irish/Indian... Each side represent a side of me. The Indian on one, and the wagon train on the other!

I was looking through the Red Book and came across the Texas Independence Centennial 1934-38. I was memorized by the Angel and how they weren't scared to put a design like that on a coin. True respect for what this country was built off of I thought. I did the impulse thing and said I have to hold that in my hand and get it under a scope. As luck would have it that night I won one a PCGS MS-63 old green label. If you haven't seen one look at Coin Chaser's pic above. Although theirs a lot going on and kind of chaotic it makes me like it even more.(My life story) Truth be told at first I thought it was the angel of death with two victims lol just kidding. I read the history of this coin on this site just about a month ago. I would like to get one in each date at least. Or all in this year. Only time will tell. The other that's moving to me is 1994W Vietnam Veterans. Its almost like a Painting I'm in love with. Reflections. If they added the soldier on the other side with his hand against the hand on the wall Man ohh man. Pulls at my heart just thinking about it. Still a powerful coin.
This is the painting Vietnam Reflections

I would have to say the Bicentenial sets 1776-1976. That is what got me really thinking about collecting coins, still have 3 rolls of quarters! Paul.

I would say The Little Rock Commerative Coin with low Sales Figure and The recent A N A Silver Coin from Boston ( Paul Revere ) with only 100 pieces available . The A N A also had a Badge and Bronze Medalion ,nothingover 150 pieces were available, so you were luckly to get One of 100 sets total

I've done that with the view of Grant's birthplace from his commemorative when I was in Point Pleasant, OH. Though it looks different now, instead of just a log cabin it now has white siding if I'm not mistaken :)

This is a really tough choice to make. With all the history that is illustrated in the commemoratives that is tough. But, with that said, I like the early ones the best. I have a choice Elizabeth quarter that rocks and also a really nice Lafayette dollar. As for the new ones, I like the 2001 Buffalo dollar. It is such a shame to what the early settlers & government did to the Indians and we have not shown near enough sympathy for them.
