I've been buying ASE for years. I once asked if anyone collected them and when I checked I saw I had 18 different dates, so I figured I could get the rest and complete an album as ASE are pretty nice. The 18 were in a loose pile I had, not in the tube. Since I purchased the tube in 2011, I assumed it was just a tube of 2011 ASE. Since ASE was just bullion, I didn't care about the dates. But when I got the Dansco Album, I checked the tube to see if maybe I had a nicer 2011, well as a surprise to me, the tube had most of what I was missing except for the 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008. Since the LCS wasn't opened I wasn't in a hurry, but the LCS has been doing pickup, so I asked if he had the ones I was missing and over the last month I picked up all except for the 1994 which he got in last week.

The 1996 is the key date (kind of surprising there are key dates when millions are made, but I digress) and since the proof cost less then the 1996 "bullion", there is a proof in 1996.

The space for 2021 has a reverse, as in 2021 the reverse will change. So here is the full set of 1986 to 2020 ASE

Looks fantastic!

Your '87 could use a little love. And that '96 has a proof-like appearance.

Cool set.

Completely agree with you there. That's how I hope my son views/treats my collection when it passes to him.

I think my daughter already has all the coins/notes spoken for. When my son asks about them I expect the answer to be "Dad had no coins , what are you talking about?"

Nice looking set. I think these ASE's will be even more collectible in the future.

If my memory is intact, the original plans for this program did not include dating the coins ; they were to be sold and treated strictly as bullion. I was disappointed by the retread Walking Liberty half design and the ordinary reverse since this was during the tenure of Elizabeth Jones ; capable of some superior designs.
