Help With Roman Coin Identification

As a follow up, I'm looking for advice as to whether I should continue cleaning this coin more. Trying not to over clean. Report this Post to the Staff

There are of course two schools of thought regarding hte cleaning up of ancient coins. Preservationists would say you should only clean a coin until you can fully identify it - then stop. Restorationists would try to bring the coin into as close as possible to its original coin-like condition, removing all extraneous dirt and corrosion. Many collectors lean towards Restorationism. This coin is certainly fully identifiable, so it does not "need further cleaning" from a Preservationist viewpoint. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
