A whole pile of acquired Australian coins again.... These were purchased as part of my bulk buy-in at the start of this year. Price was $1.56 per coin. It's an almost complete set of pre-decimal pennies 1911 - 1964. I am putting them together as a prize for a competition I want to run here to celebrate my first 500 posts on CCF, but the likely postage drama to USA (should one of our up-above cousins win it) is a bit discombobulating! Anyway, that matter is for another topic. Apart from the 1925 and the 1946 (I am blessed to have acquired three of each of these rarities), the others all came out of my spares and rejects bucket. There is obviously no 1930....that would be a fair bit north of $1.56. The only other coin not present is the 1914, not surprisingly. Also not surprisingly, a lot of these coins are not from the top shelf, but a fair percentage are pretty tidy coins. Anyway I just though I would show these acquisitions and plug my upcoming comp with some free promotion!

They look great and congratulations on your milestone!
The 1927 and 1928 Halfpennies are your nice coins, they are really nice. I would say EF at least.

I'm not into the coloured mint stuff, just too much of it flooding the whole country.............
HOWEVER....these two you have purchased are outstanding, stunning IMO. well done AC I may need to re-evaluate my prejudice. (She and I have a great affinity with things that reside in water, we get to see the southern right whales and fairy penguins literally 1 km from our house in Encounter Bay)

I couldn't resist getting this little date run of Australian florins for just over silver content value at a coin shop in Brighton yesterday!

Wow, that's nice!
How do you calculate the silver price anyway?

Quote: How do you calculate the silver price anyway? It's about £18.50 per ounce right now, so I consider getting a crown-size silver coin for about £20 or a florin for £7 to be quite good value.

You've done exceptionally well NumisRob The florins are fairly tidy. Well done, a bargain.

Finally acquired this1944 NZ Half Crown. This completes my set of NZ halfs. Not the prettiest but it was within budget and is the key date. Concentrating on the florins now. Cheers
