So after many years of collecting, I finally buy the bullet on something I've wanted for years: a pre-33 gold coin. This is a 1900 PCGS MS61 OGH, and with my first gold coin in my hands it has easily become my new favorite coin in my collection.

Gash on the cheek is on the holder, not the coin.

They sort of grow on you. Despite being a common date, it's scarcer than a 1909-SVDB cent.

Beautiful coin and congratulations on your "first gold".
Now the addiction starts, soon you will be hiding in your secret spot, holding it and talking to it and telling yourself you need more. It's a long slippery slope. Keep us tuned in as your collection grows so we can be there as a support group. ( No, you don't need that next new gold coin but we think you should buy it anyway, what a great support group)

Congrats on your purchase. All U.S. gold coins are beautiful! I love the weight of them in the hand. I try to buy one at each coin show I attend.
