I have a 1964,1970,1978, and this one which I believe is a 1982. And they all look pretty much the same, this is more extreme than the other three. Thank you for the help I'm learning a lot.

If it were a known coin variety, the damage to the coin would make it a cull. So if there was a premium the coin, it could loose as much as 90% because of damage. On a normal coin, damage will make the coin just a spender. No premium for damage on a coin. If damage make a coin valuable, we would have no change. All coins would be damaged, and consider valuable. So it is just a face value coin now.

yes, that is a 1982-D large date copper cent. (no zinc showing anywhere) with extreme damage - what we call a 'parking lot' cent.
