These are incredibly rare. From what I read there are 400 or so missing clad layer before strike coins to every one of these. Missing clad layer after strike. This one has a lot more than just missing clad. Theses what appears to be a huge strike through and huge fin or Cud over the date. Again I am very busy at this time so these are sellers pictures and I will be out of contact for the weekend. I'll post in hand pictures next week and another coin that I'm waiting to have in hand before I post. What do you think?

Probably too late for weight on this coin? (now in the slab)

I will resend for re-evaluation of the coin. I see others thinks. I do not think Bret saw this coin.

That is fascinating and really unique, amazing pickup! This is a great candidate for Mike Diamond's opinion.

Wild looking error, nice grab!
There was a 2002 D Ohio quarter posted recently with a struck through/missing clad issue that I wonder may be related to this error, though on a smaller scale.

Thanks guys. I'll have this coin in hand tomorrow. And finally have the day off. I'll post some nice pictures. I'll try to contact Mike after I get it in hand. I also have a Roosevelt that is struck on a folded over clad layer to post then.

Wonderful Error!
I would have loved to have seen what this one looked like before the clad layer separated. I wonder if anything looked out of place on the original strike.

Peculiar. The presence of an apparent struck--through error on the obverse suggests that, perhaps, the clad layer separated from the core shortly before the strike and arrived in the striking chamber together with its mate and with an additional piece of debris trapped between clad layer and core. Another possibility is that a piece of debris became trapped between the clad strip and the core strip during rolling and that this piece of debris precipitated the separation of the clad layer after the strike. I still haven't figured out the reason for the truncated crescent devoid of design details in the southeast.

That is strange looking. Looks like some areas folded before the strike.
