Overall I have to say this version is not the big hitter I expected. Is it because we are still to recent. there really is only 6 or 7 of us and I would say that Trigg and Rob are putting the bulk of stuff in.

I take responsibility for some old and hazy photos and promise to get my act together in the next few days. I am not so familiar with the early parts of these threads as I only started posting big time in February 2020 and by that stage I only started posting in the 6th edition by the time we reached the early 1980s. I noticed the period back to around 1950 was like this and it really picked up around 1945.

A coin or two

Actually they issued that design from 2014 to 2018 with the 2014 being very common and the others less so.

I open my 2017 selection with German climate coins again. This was the first year of them and it showed the Tropical Zone, apparently a parrots eye view of landing on a high jungle tree. Red was the colour of the Polymer ring.

Various shades of red appeared in the rings from the 5 mints and none of these coins are that easy to find now.

The heads again shows the same eagle and the date 2017.

However that is not the end of this series, there is one more coin to come in 2016!

New Zealand did not issue any circulation coins for 2017, which is strange as most years, at least one denomination snuck out.

However time for a new country from me

Sri Lanka 10 Rupees 2017 - This stainless steel coin is 28mm yet has a face value of around 4 cents! And this was before their current crisis, it is a pretty coin though.

Fiji issued a commem 50 cents in 2017 over their Rugby 7's gold medal at the Rio Olympics

The coin shows team members and their coach. Fiji also issued a $7 note as well. But this is a coin thread, not a note one.

Bubblegum but beautiful. Just because its bubblegum does not mean I don't like it. I would not have you fishing your tills to find them for me. I am a hubba bubba boy!

One guy called "Brismike" on Numista, has taken offense at me calling these coins bubblegum - he does not realise its all good fun. The cheapness and availability of these coins makes them hits. Other countries like the UK or New Zealand seem to make them overpriced NCLT or issue miniscule quantities of them, but like the USA, Australia gets it right and here is my 2017 selection of the finest bubblegum from that year!

First we have Possum Magic, some kiddies book about a shy possum called Hush discovering herself and becoming visible. The top coin has her being invisible and sad, but as he sees her tail she becomes satisfied (Just pray she does not end up in NZ!)

How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Seventh-Edition!
We also have our standard 2017 $2 coin and a very nice Hall of Remembrance $2 coin and a laurel leaved remembrance coin. As we go further back, the number of fancy $2 coins dries up. The Hall one may be my favourite of all the $2 ring coins to date

Czechia 2017 - 5 Korun, showing a stylised Charles Bridge in Praha
The design has been used since 1993, but this is nice (Sorry about photo).

Hungary 50 Forint 2017 - sorry another hazy photo from 2020.
This coin like Czechia is also a 1990s design still be used 25 years later.

Phillipines - 5 Piso new generation coinage 2017. This coin is already collectable as it's shape was shanged to polygonal in 2019 as it's size was too close to the more worthless 1 Piso coin (Although that is worth 3 cents, and this is 15 cents!)
