Well, I see the 7 and I see the 8, so as long as that snakey thing between them is a 5 ...

It appears we have a concurrence. Tomorrow we can move onto the next wait. Quote: 1356 (AH 757) - none found

Yes, of the search that @JohnConduitt conducted on Zeno, I think #283117 firms up Spence's Birdi Beg.

I have been trawling the normal haunts for a 1356 / AH 757 coin, but not a lot of success. There are a small amount of 1356 Edward III groats (mm crown), but the prices being asked are way above my budget range. There are a lot of "rare" 1356 China Yuan Dynasty "DA ZHONG TONG BAO" advertised on ebay by a Singapore seller. But from what I can gather online (Numista and Wikipedia) the minting of the Dazhong TongBao didn't commence until 1361. I queried the seller on the attribution of the date, but the seller has been strangely silent to date. From a list of Chinese cash coins (courtesy of Calgary coins), there is a bronze 3 cash. Obverse: "CHIH-CHENG T'UNG-PAO" in orthodox Chinese script. Reverse: "SHEN" in Mongol seal script. SHEN is short for PING SHEN indicating this coin was struck in AD 1356. These seem to be as rare as hen's teeth and again a bit above my limit. (One on ebay for AUD1650) Keep looking!

I hope we're getting through it at some point. I think Meshok has a ton of those but of course that's not very useful for non-Russians...
I believe 1355/756 and 1354/755 are also gaps (unless @andyg has a surprise entry), so maybe worth looking into those too, just in case.

Yes, I'll be keeping an eye out for those gaps too. There is a Juchid pul, rosette type which I convinced myself was a 757, but now fairly certain it is a 752

Good to see some chatter. I was wondering what might be going on behind the scenes.

Quote: I have been trawling the normal haunts for a 1356 / AH 757 coin, but not a lot of success. Rechecked MA Shops again; they still don't have anything cheap, but TIL that there's apparently a type called "blanc au châtel fleurdelise" of Jean II of France that had gone through several emissions over the year 1356. The examples I have found are all in the 100-300€ range, except for one that went unsold for 70€ several months ago. If only we knew to look out for it...
