OK, Here is my dilemma. My father in-law who I like a lot inherited some silver dollars from his dad who I really respected and liked a lot. I told my Father in-law that I want to buy a silver dollar of Grandpas. If I post a pic of the one I want to purchase can I get a value from the folks on here? that way it is fair to both sides? Thanks all.
Sounds good, make sure you post them in the grading section for best exposure and if you cannot make them big enough in the post, you can use a hosting site like Photobucket.
Make sure it is a fair deal because death and money seem to break up a family really easy. You may also want to consider a lower grade coin and see if he will just give it to you as a keepsake.
Yes that is the whole intention of the fair trade. I am letting dad in-law choose the coin and then that is the one I will post the pic of. I want the cheapest one in the bunch so it is all good. Like you said just a rememberence thing for me I guess.
If you want the cheapest one, check out a Red Book from the library, pick a common date coin that's circulated, buy it for $15, and have a good time. Most circulated Morgan dollars are worth around $15.
