commems CCF Master Historian of USA Commemoratives United States 12272 Posts	Posted 10/01/2022 10:08 am Here's a 1939 5 Franc Luzern Shooting Festival commemorative piece. A rifle is an integral part of the obverse design. The obverse German inscription at the rim: "Eidgenosisches Schutsenfest in Luzern" translates to "Federal Schutsen Festival in Lucerne" in English. The reverse German inscription in the center: "Einer für alle alle für einen" translates to "One for all, all for one" in English. :Note: Though the piece carries a denomination of "5 Francs." it was not truly a coin that could circulate beyond the Shooting Festival (or after it closed). The reverse has the rim inscription: "Einlösbar + Bis + 31 + August + 1939" which translates to "Redeemable Until 31 August 1939." Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems.
