Can you provide a closeup of the date? But it appears the folks at NGC determined that whatever caused the date to look like it does was just PMD.

If all the damage to the date is raised it could be an off-center second strike.

Maybe one for Mike Diamond...

These are the only pics I have. Not my coin. It seems like the NGC grader didn't have much conviction about the coin, so used a very general descriptor. Is it possible that the person who submitted the coin did not ask for an attribution for the date? I really know little about this.

Yes awesome pickup/checkout on that Jadenusa, it is great that NGC moved to photographing every recent slab, maybe for this kind of reason, wish PCGS did the same, maybe at some point they will.

Someone went to some extreme to manipulate the photo. Bet there are no returns on slabbed coins.
