I feel silly but I did spend quite a while trying to find this.. I'm also only a month or so in to coin collecting so bear with me please!

At first I thought it was "Copper Nickel Clad" Philly ( RedBook).. but since then I've learned that would only be evident on the edge.

Then I thought some sort of cameo proof..

It weighs around 6 grams so can't be the silver correct? Also no mintmark (it would be S for proof)

I'm starting to think someone did this with marker or somethign (My wife got this from a co-worker after she mentioned I was starting to collect)

doctored?

I agree with the marker idea. It is PMD.

Silviosi, thank you I will wipe that marker off asap.

Dearborn, prime suspect is a child who colorized it.

It could also be the result of someone buying a gold-plating kit/tool and practicing their technique on a low-value coin.
