I'm not familiar with the doubling on the statue or a large date in the 72's, interesting. As for the statue, looking as if it were forced in between the columns, that was what the design was, at that point.

-makecents- question have you ever seen these little micro letters what is that about on the coins mostly proofs. it would be the first letter punched. its funny but I have to make sure this is not a refection.
Punching I want the forum to know I have found punching. its surprising . I thought there would be lots no there is not. I may share the punching pictures with 2 people here. I knew once I found pure silver in the center. I would find more. I will give you a verbal answer. the one I have the word on the quarter. LIBERTY. when you look at the letters E R the E 2 different level punches. so the steel was starting to harden the R smooth as glass and clear. . I don't know why I just thought there would be more on the coins.

Silvio that would have to be on the punch. I wonder if that is a lead for the letter. oh well some thing to think about.

Silvio possibly a S over a backwards S .Silvio in the bottom hole there is a special mark. I will try to photo it here is the first image.
