Help Identification Denarius With Variety

simone1978 Valued Member Italy 220 Posts	Posted 11/01/2022 08:20 am Good morning to the whole forum I cannot classify this denarius, I believe Roman , which has a variety with the engraving of the figure only on the reverse and on the recto ita has the same engraving. sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 11/01/2022 08:33 am Not familiar with this ancient? coin type, but I suspect that it may be the ancient equivalent of what modern collectors would call a 'pattern' (experimental or trial) coin, and not intended for circulation. If my assumption is correct, it would be very rare. Another assumption would suggest that this piece is a modern fantasy coin, in an ancient style and method of manufacture. The coin itself, if genuine, is an issue of Marc Antony. I checked various sites to get an idea on the authenticity , sice it is a Marco Antonio coin and is listed as rarity r4 , given the importance of the coini send it to PCGS for an evaluation.
