There has been another article written about this coin titled "Exploring scenarios for making floating counterclash coins" in the February 20th edition of Coin World. Mike and I have come up with some new possibilities based on the discovery of James Krieb and his struck in die fragment responsible for FDC-1c-1974-01 (which he got in change from a vending machine in the early 80's!). His coin was featured in the February monthly edition of Coin World. Also featured in this new article is NYIslander's 1984 cent posted here a short while back. Go check it out! Here is James Kriebs coin received from a vending machine!

Outstanding article on CoinWorld. Kudos to Mike Diamond and CoinHI. PS: All the expertise and sets of eyes here should help solve the mystery.

Are you going to treat it with Verdi-Care or similar? John1

Thanks!! Quote: Are you going to treat it with Verdi-Care or similar? I did give it a quick acetone bath just to stop any progression of the "sneeze stains".. I didn't think about using verdi-care, and my only bottle was misplaced in the move. It's not verdigris on the coin, so I don't know if that would even help.

I'm happy to see this coin in the latest edition of "Cuve's Round Up" in ErrorScope Nov-Dec 2023!! There's a new overlay and some nice photos I'm hoping make it to the Maddieclashes listing. You can access the web edition for CONECA members here https://conecaonline.org/2023-errorscopes/
