I think a closer description would be "their interpretation of ANA guidelines".

PCGS tends to have the greatest prestige.
IMO NGC is their equal.

I personally think ANACS is best for 20th/21st century coins MOSTLY because their fees are lower.

ICG is a hanger-on from the old days.

Now we have to watch out for CAC.
They're apparently going to start a slabbing service.
Stay alert.
