Took me into the third month (by 3 days) this year, finally got a nickel dated 2023. Last few years it's been the dime or quarter that I get first. Nothing to write home about on this coin, didn't even use my nice camera to shoot it, it's going into the change jar.

I was working downtown this week ( Washington , DC ) and I found out that the US Mint has a store about 3 blocks from where my project was. I got to see alot of stuff that was way out of reach for me , but I broke down and bought a 3 roll set of new quarters. I'm afraid to open it , lol ... I paid 60 bucks for a plain white box that is just going to sit in a desk ?

This is the earliest I have had a coin for the new year since I have lived in the Phoenix area. I got a 2023-D nickel at the car wash this morning. Usually around here it is well into May before they start popping up, and usually quarters or pennies.

The floodgates have opened! I'm sure it'll be another month or so before I find my first... guess I'll have to start paying for coffe in cash now.

Still looking for all 2022P coins. No 2023 Ds or Ps yet. Need to take a trip somewhere.

Quote: When I came home, I couldn't find it anywhere... it was tucked into the cigarette lighter area in the car (with 2 authentic Concord Grapes swiped from [yes] Concord last year). An early start on the first 2023 Cupholder coin!

Quote: no dimes, nickels or zincolns yet.. i posted that only 2 days ago.. today I picked thru several coins that I scored last night, but hadn't examined closely.. my first 2023 zincoln where did I pick that from? from inside an air-vac dirt canister. that new zincoln had hardly seen any circulation activity and was prematurely sucked away & bound for the landfill.. so far, all the 2023 coins that have come my way have been picked from somewhere (pavement, air-vac, soda machine, etc) rather than received in change from spending..

Wife got 3 2023 D Jefferson's and 1 2023 D Bessie Coleman quarter in change this morning. Didn't think I would see any Denver mint coins this early, as we live in mid-Ohio.
Edit for name change
