I have posted about this quarter before, but upon further inspection and a bit more knowledge from you guys. I have found a few things that I need professional eyes on. It looks to me as if there is a crack forming on the top portion of Washington's head? I also see a small crack coming off of the letter N and through the I in the words In God We Trust. The quarter looks very worn so it was a bit rough getting pictures. Hopefully my coin microscope will be here this weekend so I can get clean close up photos.

@char, it looks to me like this quarter was struck from tired dies and I agree that there are a couple nice die cracks on the obv.

That is an extremely worn die and nice cracks. There will be nothing listed, as I know though. You will find many cracks, on many coins but to be listed, as far as what I directed you to before, they must meet the rim and the bust.

So would the crack in the letters be listed or a candidate for listing? It looks as if it reaches the rim.

Look at the definition at the top and answer me back. I edited my reply above. It must go from the rim to somewhere of the bust. Must reach each.

Okay I see the definition there. It definitely does not make it anywhere near the bust. I will put this with the other die cracked quarters I find. Thanks for the clarification.

Look for the markers of DDO for this year and previous or the next year. 1981, 82 and 83 they use the same Master hub Die.
