Despite the wear, I'm seeing split serifs in a couple of spots, but I can't find this coin on Vista or Coppercoins. And I know the 1957s have all kinds of issues. Can anyone advise is this just a bad case of MD? Thanks in advance!

Sadly MD, 57 D imo is a vn DDO if you can get one EDS and ms red but this isn't it

There was several of these seen that year. The machine must have been real loose on these strikes:
1957-D-Wheat,-MD-Or-DDO?
If the mintmark is in the same position, then it was probably from the same die.
1957-D-Wheat,-MD-Or-DDO?
Post strike damage to these devices. ( Machine Doubling)
