Thank you @ns! It has been awhile, I have a couple to get into the album, but have been slow cracking them out. Broke one free today. 1908-S - Formerly ANACS F-15

It warms my heart to see these coins freed from their TPG coffins. And a very nice collection. I like your quest to make a collection where all of the coins are very similar in grade and overall eye appeal.

ericgreen, to say this thread has been a delight to read through is an understatement! I'm not sure how it hasn't been on my radar before. The set you're building is beautiful, top-quality, and very challenging! I've been working on a F-12 set of Barber dimes for years, and I can attest to the difficulty of finding original, quality Barbers at that grade. It's been doubly slow because my coin budget has fluctuated a lot over the years. Keep up the great work! I hope you'll post your album in our upcoming "153 Days of Dansco Albums" thread.

Thanks all! Had time for another one. I believe I am down to needing only 9 more to complete the set! 1903-S

Obvious older obverse cleaning. Not really a fan of this one.

Compare the even dark reverse with the clearly lightened left and right fields of the obverse. The contrast between the cleaned right obverse field and the dark star band from K2-K5 is particularly evident. Obverse has been mopped, and I just don't think it measures up to the rest of your set.

Thanks for the input @Coinfrog! What you say makes sense. I have seen plenty of straight graded barbers with this look (including this one), so my thought was maybe those lighter obverse fields could be from circulation. Coin looks a bit nicer in hand, for what it is worth. I am trying an acetone soak to lighten up some of that grime, probably won't do much.
Finding a decent priced 1903-S has been very challenging. It is in the list to find a nicer duplicate for if one comes up. The Dansco has 7 unlabeled spots that I plan to fill with duplicates.

Just my sincere thoughts. I have watched you build your set, and this one just doesn't fit to my eye.
