The Silver Searcher Pillar of the Community United States 1390 Posts	Posted 01/19/2023 6:55 pm Hi all, Spotted this one on ebay today: https://www.ebay.com/itm/394420987145 I think it's absolutely fascinating - I've seen plenty of modern coins that reached lowball condition, but I can't recall seeing a commemorative in this condition. I'm thinking it must have been someone's pocket piece... what do you all think? It's a bit out of my budget, but if I had the funds I'd be thrilled to have a modern lowball commem to add to my set. I find it hard to imagine that such a piece could remain in circulation long enough to experience that much wear...someone would have plucked it out of circulation long before it reached that state. Add in the fact that it's a half dollar (a denomination with low circulation) and is a silver coin to boot and "pocket piece" makes the most sense- at least to me!
