Highlighting this auction is an uncut pair of India, Government of India ND (ca. 1865) 100 Rupees Progressive Proofs graded PMG 55 About Uncirculated (lot 461) with an estimate of £40,000 to £60,000 (about $50,000 to $75,000). Each Progressive Proof has resemblances to the issued note with a catalog number of Pick# A16, including the four language panels. Progressive Proofs are created during the development of notes to help the banknote authorities reach a final design.
