That dime is very nice and would be a good compliment to the OP's Half Dime. Low mintages for both, 70,000 for the Half Dime and 406,000 for the dime.

I would certainly agree with that! That is a pretty one.
There are lots of 1838-O dimes in VF and lower - in higher grades, like yours, not so easy.
That would make a good companion to my new 1838-O H10C, as MisterT says.


My own example is in lower grade.

I think you definitely made the right call keeping it and I agree that it's probably XF details. You could always sell it for a pretty nice profit and put that money towards one that does straight grade. Other than that ding, it's really nice, great color!
