@sam, sorry but that is not a coin. We usually describe them as " jewelry imitation ottoman tokens". The ones that are holed (such as yours) may have been part of a belly dancer costume at one point.

It is very crudely copied Arabic script based loosely - very loosely - on the silver coins issued by Ottoman Algeria, something like this example of a 1/8 riyal from 1828.
The original coins stated the name of the Ottoman sultan, the name of the mint-city (al-Jazair, or Algiers) and the date. But these jewellery imitations don't really say anything and only somewhat resemble Arabic letters.
